(I wrote this right after i got home from the concert last night, but i didn't post it because my internet wasn't working. so pretend it's last night)
What is the definition of happiness? it's different for everybody but Joanna Chiang's definition of happiness = Summer Wilshire, Sun From Shadow, Avner, and a crappy band called John Kanakanaka, on a Friday night at the Vault. Add the most amazing people in the world, some moshing, dancing with You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, seeing negro lips, and maybe some Tropical Skittles...There is your perfect Friday night. I am a happy woman. officially.
so here are the deets..
John Kanakanaka came on and they were interesting to say the least. I honestly think they were worse than Die Queen Die. At least Die Queen Die was entertaining. ish. and looked at the crowd. John Kanaka just closed their eyes or turned their back or looked at their guitar. or concentrated on their drums. :p I truly am puzzled by them. and thank the Lord that was their last show. i can understand why now. I have no sympathy for you, John Kanaka.
THEN SUN FROM SHADOW CAME ON. and it was the gorge of the world. i literally had chills running through my body. especially in Dark House and Here I Am. you guys are amazing and i feel like a proud mother. i cannot wait until the EP comes out! it was just all perfecto. and when carsonian and logan switched to drums and hayden went on the bongos and the blue plastic bucket...THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT. IT WAS SO AMAZING, COOL, GREAT, RAD, SUPERB, EVERYTHING. i love you guys. Sun From Shadow FOREVER. dont stop.
So then AVNER was after and they put on a GREAT show. they worked up the crowd and it was so great. and then the moshing began :] i have a bruise on my foot from that..its my badge of honor. and then that one guy was saying how he wanted to be on the history channel. and everybody was like. dead silent and i was like YOU DO WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES. and then he was laughing. and then when he saw me later he was like "Thanks for backing me up back there. i owe you one" so there is my conversing with the Avner dudeee. it was great. even though he was like 30.
SUMMER WILSHIRE = AFTER AVNER. uhmayzing. we sat outside for most of it because we were super tired, but we heard them loud and proud still. truly brilliant. love love love them. but sun from shadow was still better. SORRY :]
so basically. it was the most amazing night ever. i dont think anything can beat it.
January 26 at the Vault will go down in Joanna Chiang History. Period.
